1979 Gretsch guitar and bass catalogue. Page 4 - details of the Gretsch Super Chet 7690, Country Gentleman 7670 and Nashville 7660.
It was 1979 that Gretsch and Chet Atkins parted company, with his endorsement going to Gibson Chet took the name Country Gentleman with him, and the Gretsch instrument was renamed. This catalogue must have been printed around about the this time, as there is no explicit reference to Chet Atkins, though some instruments (like the Super Chet) still use his name, and the Country Gent and Nashville pictured, both have his signature on their scratchplates.
