Details of two deep-body electrics, X-175 Manhattan and X-500 Stuart. These guitars had been Guild staples for years, fitted with single coil pickups in the 1950s (see a 1953 X-175, changing to humbuckers in 1963. Although the pickup itself was pictured (inset to the main image), in allcatalogues up until 1968, the guitar itself still showed the single coil units. This 1969 catalogue rectified that, and showed them in colour for the first time. |
