Guild
The Guild S-90 electric guitar
1975 Guild electric guitar catalogue

The S-90 was launched sometime around 1972, at a price of $275. It had the new SG style body shape and twin humbuckers of the S-100 yet with the simplified controls and simpler hardware of the S-50. Gibson were continually refining the SG, and the 1972 prices ran from $249 for the single pickup SG-I, to $595 for the SG custom. The Guild S-90, with its mahogany body, set mahogany neck and full body scratchplate with twin humbuckers was reminiscent of the SG special and standard of 1968-70, yet in the price range of the cheapest Gibson two pickup sg, the SG-II at $279.50

It was also available in a wider range of colours: Sunburst, Cherry, Black, Walnut, or Natural.
