The X-175 is one of Guilds best known full bodies, and most enduring. It was there at the dawn of the company, with the first models being produced in 1953 (check out a 1953 Guild X-175) and still being built, without a break in 1984. In the course of such a long production, there are naturally subtle, and not so subtle changes to the instrument. The most notable change occurred in 1963, when the soapbar single coil units were replaced with humbuckers. These were upgraded further in 1971.
