Kalamazoo was Gibsons budget brand; Kalamazoo instruments were made at the Gibson plant, by Gibson employees, using Gibson parts. The illustrator of this catalogue also drew a similarly-styled Gibson flyer in 1966. The characters depicted in the two leaflets demonstrate Gibsons ideas of who each brand is aimed at. The Gibson catalogue shows older players: serious-looking jazzmen a craggy faced cowboy, whilst the Kalamazoo shows a youthful beatgroup making the kids dance...
