Gibson  Victory Standard  electric bass  1981  Mark MacDonald  Recorded running through a Bellari RP520 preamp, one output to a Garnet Rebel Reverb head with matching 2x15, the other output to a Bogen challenger Head pushing 2 DIY 12" Transmission line cabs. All cabs miced with a large diaphram tube condensor mic from a distance of about 1 meter.
Gibson  Sonex-180 custom  electric guitar  1980  Peter Ingram  Original pickguard replaced with a steel one - acts almost like a reso and makes it a hair raunchier (and much louder unplugged). Recorded through the same setup as the Victory bass above. Coil tap engaged for rhythmn, neck pup humbucking for lead.
