The Meteor was an Italian-built Vox, manufactured at the E.M.E Vox plant in Recanati, for the American market. It was Vox's cheapest solid body, and was very simple: one volume and one tone control, and one pickup. Like the Spitfire, Hurricane, and Tempest, this was named after a second World War British aircraft, the Gloster Meteor.

The following description comes from the 1966 Vox catalogue

Rosewood fingerboard; hand-bound neck; adjustable master bridge channel; individual string bridges.

Pricing

1966
$119.90 (10-7-66)
$122 (15-11-66)
